When the Memorial Villages are mentioned, people usually think of the four
neighborhoods south of Interstate 10 Hedwig, Bunker Hill, Piney Point, and
Hunters Creek. But the two lesser-known members of the Memorial Villages family
Spring Valley and Hilshire Village offer excellent opportunities for
homebuyers looking for the small-town flavor all the Memorial Village townships
enjoy. Home owners find near-town convenience combined with seclusion, security
and outstanding Spring Branch Schools.
Located north of Interstate 10, and situated between Campbell Road and Wirt
Road, Spring Valley and Hilshire Village are only minutes from the Galleria
area. Like the other Memorial Villages, they feature spacious lots, large trees,
quiet streets, private city services, and an aesthetic blend of older homes and
new construction. City services for both of these townships are provided by the
Village Fire Department, which also furnishes ambulance service with trained
paramedics, and the Spring Valley Police Department, manned by a staff of 15

Covering a two-square-mile area, Spring Valleys 1992 population was
approximately 3600 residents, and the township consisted of 1,394 homes. Because
the township has its own public works personnel, two or more of whom are on call
24 hours a day, the average response time for water, sewer, or street service is
only five minutes. Spring Valley has seen the development of several successful
new subdivisions in recent years.
Consisting of 290 homes on approximately 47 acres, Hilshire Village offers
ample opportunity for new growth and construction. The township offices are
staffed by volunteer homeowners, who take care to maintain property values
through stringent restrictions ranging from building codes to parking, zoning,
and tree ordinances. Much smaller than Spring Valley, Hilshire Village showcases
beautiful, distinctive custom homes.
